First coop build new to chickens

I built this 4x8 and was wondering around how many chickens it could hold going to add a 10x4 run to the front

By our minimum formula, that would be 8 in the coop (if all of that is available floor space) and 4 in the run. Please check out the link in my sig line on space requirements.

Welcome! Where is the ventilation in your coop? Windows? It looks too dark and closed in, at least from the one picture. Mary

I second Folly's comment. I don't see much ventilation or light. This is an awesome looking coop though!

X 2 - it's a lovely design, but definitely needs some tweaks here and there.

One way to increase the size (and therefor capacity) of the run without any real construction would be to enclose the area under the coop and make that part of the run that is attached to the front of the coop. Not only would this make the run space larger, it would provide ready made shaded area in that run for the birds to enjoy -- and allow for hanging of feed/water stations underneath to keep as much of the space inside the coop freed up as possible.
