First Coop by a new chicken farmer

Yes we are in Deer Park, WA Spokane area. I just seen the link error and removed the period. Thinking of adding a rubber flap of some sort to keep the water out. Appreciate your thoughts.

As far as: Why chickens? Why now? I didn't know the forum was that tough. I have been thinking about chickens for 3 years. After much thought 2 years ago I decided there was a lousy return on Investment and dropped the idea. Eggs were selling locally today for 99 cents a dozen. But the idea lingered. My daughter recently moved back in to an apartment on the property and wanted to raise chickens...."she promises she will take care of them!" (Ever heard that one?) We'll see. I like building things...sooooo....here we go.

The only criticism I have for the coop, is that it isn't in my yard!!!

Oh it is wonderful! I am a first-time chicken owner too. I grew up on a farm as a kid, but these are MY very first. I just finished designing my coop. None of the plans online had what I wanted so I designed it myself, I can't wait to get it finished - it will be different that's for sure~
