First coop, redneck design

Yes, I think a cover to protect the food from rain would be good. The feed seems to almost disintegrate when it gets wet.

Hey Jim--I think that would be pretty small for one bird, but you have two nesting boxes? The coop should be at least 8 sq. ft. for two birds.This would be fine for a few chicks in a warm climate area.

As thrifty and imaginative as you are . you can build bigger and better with a little research.

My coop and run was built from "free stuff" off craigslist. LOL and it looks redneck{ 'cuz I'm not building gifted.}

You could scratch the ramp and use one side of the double nest box for a feed station. Add ventilation.
