First Cortunix hatch

Today is day 17 and the first two of our eggs have hatched! It's our first time incubating...and these are our own eggs. So, I'm feeling pretty proud! Crossing fingers that the others hatch as well. We had twenty three eggs total in the incubator. Yippee!

Keep em out of the water. these suckers could drown in a 1 mm puddle.

I won't be crossing my fingers, but I'll pray for those little chicks to have strength and make it out of those eggs!

Thanks! Third chick hatched two hours ago. All doing well!

Thanks, I have rocks in the water. Knew about that from raising their parents. We're at five chicks hatched now!

We ended up with 17 out of 22 hatching, not bad for first timers. The last one was stuck in the egg, so we helped it out. It's weak, but eating and drinking, So, we will see. Got a good breakdown of jumbo brown, Rosetta and A&M colors. Getting ready to put 38 more in the incubator.
