FIRST CROW !!

Our largest Buff Orpington cockerel of 6 ish weeks old crowed for the first time this morning, twice. I was able to witness it myself and am wondering if it's time or was it because I talk chicken talk to them all the time ?

Haha, I doubt it has anything to do with you talking to them! Ive had crowers start trying as early as 3 weeks and then some that haven't crowed until 7 months. I love their first croaky tries!

It's a little young for a first crow but not unheard of.
Mine started at 19 weeks.
Did your guy get it right the first time?
My first one did but it's now been over 2 months since my second one started crowing but he only gets the full 'cock-a-doodle-do' once in a while. It's usually just 'cock-a-dooooo'.

Lol Mine usually only can get "er er ooooh" for awhile

Wow, that is early! I'm only familiar with young Araucanas though, and they are slow developing. The first one crowing out of my "young-ins" is 15 weeks old. He has all the notes down, but he sounds like a seal going through puberty

Haha, I don't think it's the chicken talk. It's pretty rare for a cockerel to start crowing at that age, but it has happened before. Some start really early, and some start really late. Yours just started really early.
