First Day :)

Well, I have several that are pipping, today is the day they are SUPPOSED to hatch.
I know I "owe" a couple of pictures, just waiting for my daughter because she takes better ones that I do!

The one I have the pic of earlier on this thread is Frankie, a Dutch Banty.

Then we have my daughters mixed layer chick (she kind of took him/her over as this is the one she watched hatch. Formerly named Mucho but now named "Gir" since he reminds her of the robot on Invader Zim:)) last but not least is "Spot" the Americauna.(Hey, you cant get any more generic as far as gender than "Spot",lol!!!

Chick update, 5 happy chicks, one was too slow to hatch and needed help. neighbor helped him/her out of shell. was wet and sticky looking, never dryed. read somewhere to bath the chick in bottle water that was warmed, then blow dry chick gently.
chick looks good by comparison, but does not look like other chicks.
I made a brooder out a clear tote. divided it in half . half for weak chick, other side active chicks. heat lamp in the middle.
they all seem happy.
The other 24 eggs do not seem to want to hatch. I will give them another day. no taps, no chirps, nothing.
The chick that fell onto the floor didn't make it,
I took photos, cannot get them to appear. maybe when I hit the submit button it will just "be" there.

Yay!!!

What cute little chicks!!!!!
My mixed eggs were supposed to hatch yesterday and after the bad luck I had with silkies, I was a little depressed. But this morning there are two pipping and at the rate they are going I wouldnt be surprised if they were out before my daughter gets home!

Sigh, once again I have "waffled" on the pics, have had a lot on my mind lately. I WILL get pics.

We will allow it this time mags....lol
I know what you mean about having alot on your mind.
I ended up having to help four chicks last night because the membrane was drying out and I was afraid they wouldn't make it.
My Siberian Husky still hasn't had her pups and she is going on day 66.
I finally got some sleep last night and woke up to about 15 new babies in the incubator and of the four I helped, 3 are up and running around but the fourth is still hanging in there but they were stepping all over it so I took it out and put it in the aquariumbator to see if it helps.
It's really wierd, some of the ones I set on the 29th started hatching last night before the ones I set on the 27th. I will leave them in the bator for a few more days and check them again.
Good luck everyone on your hatches.
Sending good hatching vibes to you!!

One of the mixed eggs hatched around the time my daughter got home. Its a little darkish chick. There is another one at least pipping. I also have six silkie eggs that SHOULD be due today.

Congrats on your chickies!!!

Sis - how is your little wet one doing? I had one like that and it never dried. I read in my book that it's some bacterial disease - sure hope yours is ok!!!!
