First Egg at 17 weeks

I forgot to say I pushed the saturation in the red hand pic, didn’t increase the blue balance, just overall saturation to triple check blue not green, not that I wouldn’t be happy with whatever color..i just wanted her to be successful and healthy..I think she thought she was going to lay for three days..! Finally today she would come down the ramp from the coop, think about it, then rush back inside..she did this a few times, so I left for an hour and rechecked..all the other “egg virgins” were making a clamor, but not her, which is funny, she sang the day before like she had laid a dozen! Here she is..I’m biased, but I think she’s gorgeous..to me, she looks least like A chicken of my group..she looks more like a hawk..(plus I haven’t been around lots of chickens my whole life..I must concede I didn’t know what most breeds looked like..)
EEs are so pretty! I have a pullet who looks a lot like yours, her name is June Bug. She lays tealish eggs.

I love EEs! I own a few and hatched a few this year.
Yes..I got into an argument about the heritage of Ameraucanas vs EEs, and even got the president of McMurray hatchery to write a letter..I’m convinced no one really knows the difference between Ameraucanas, EE’s and mutts of all stripes..so now I say Ameraucana if no pics, “Ameraucana” or alleged Ameraucana..I’ve decided that, my bird is mine, and since I don’t even care about naming them, I don’t care what other ppl think about exactly what her heritage is!

Not to get back into that, but there’s definitely a big difference between EEs and Ameraucana. I actually have a thread I wrote about it.
EEs come in many colors and are not purebred birds. Still super beautiful. But not a bird bred to the SOP.
Ameraucana must have the right legs, eggs, comb, and pattern to be considered true Ameraucanas. :D
