First Egg Countdown

Can I jump in a question rather than reading everything? I recently purchased some Gold sexlinks to add to my flock. I was told they were about a month away from laying. It has now been 6 weeks and I'm getting nothing. I have 3 Reds and an Austrolorp that have been laying this whole time (they're about 18 months old). How soon should I expect eggs? I understood it to be about 20 weeks, but now at 22 I'm getting kind of anxious. Are my new girls just slow or do you think they were younger than I was told? Thanks

bitter farm- yes and no....out of my 12, 1 started at 18 weeks and the rest at about 20 weeks im at 22 and still have one that hasn't laid, were did u get yours, and are they squatting?, or how do their combs look?
a pic would help, if u see my last pic post that's what mine look when they start...Are they on steady layer feed?
I hope this helps? any questions just ask!!

Chances are you were given the wrong age. Do you have a picture of them?

Here's the best picture of one of my Goldies. Taken tonight. When I got them 6 weeks ago they were nearly as tall as my RIR's but much skinnier, they've plumped up a lot since then. How much should I be holding my breath?

And the other 2, one is trying to camera dodge.

they should be laying verrrry soon....did you get them from the feed store? they look like my twins lol,,,

i would say they told you the wrong age. These look maybe 2 weeks away maybe a Little less. They don't look very red in the face but that can happen within a week :)
