Hang in there it will happen. It seemed to help when my husband started giving my EE back scratches. She came up to him one morning and did an eagle pose so he reached down and gave her a little back scratch. They did this for 2 days and on the third day she started laying eggs.

I am at 18 weeks with a delaware, 2 black australorps and a 17 week old EE. No real signs of anything. will have to see congrats to all who have been rewarded for all your patience LOL

Sorry for double post but I forgot to mention that mine finally had another egg today after Wednesday's disastrous drop, and once again, she dropped it from the roost. I need an egg laying tutor!!

I have several hens, different breeds, between the ages of 20 and 24 weeks, and not one egg! Winter is fast approaching, will I get any eggs this year? My husband teases me constantly about my flock of feathery lawn mowers. What do I do with them!? Are there ever duds? Hens that don't ever lay?

Yes, they really are hens. Anyone else waiting this long?

Don't worry, they're not duds and you will have eggs before winter. Since your husband is teasing you, don't give him the first egg.

And yes, I'm still waiting at 28 weeks.

I know exactly how you feel! I have 9 girls who will be 24 weeks tomorrow. One laying consistently for almost 5 weeks, and one who laid her first egg yesterday. My guess is that by then end of the week, most of mine will be laying. And I bet you will go from having no eggs to having too many eggs. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
