First Egg Countdown

Here is another angle:

Wow, interesting bird. Almost looks like a Gold Laced Wyandotte/Barvelder cross. Crosses are harder to predict for laying, but I'd say she's within a month or two because of those ears.

Out of your other birds, the only ones that are within a month of laying are the second Red Star (if she's not already), and your Orpington. The other girl is still too young, and has barely any comb growth.

Thank you so much! None of them have produced an egg yet but there's no telling what trauma they went through. In regards to the black one, there was a Gold Laced Wyandotte pullet there as well but they insisted this one is not one. Although, another person also said she looks like a GLW. I'd be very happy with either (or a mix). The little Marans roo that came with them is probably 4-5 months old and hasn't crowed yet so maybe they all need a little time to settle in. I've never rescued before, it's been interesting.
I guess time will tell. Until then I hope I get an egg from these new ones soon! :)

It looks like one of my other girls started laying today! My husband found the egg on the right in a corner of the coop. It's a very pretty blue in person. It must have come from either my black ameraucana or one of my other EE's. It's dirty :( Hopefully I can get her laying in the nest box soon!!!

My oldest EE started laying last week, her egg is on the left...with a large white store bought egg in the middle.

OleMissChic - the first one could be a Dark Cornish mix. She's got the thicker legs and the comb of a Cornish. Whatever she is, she doesn't look pure, as the coloring around her neck isn't correct with the feather pattern.

OleMissChic- part of her does look barnevelder, now that I can see her whole body! When you showed the pic of just her head and neck, I thought I was nuts for suggesting barnevelder in the first place, but now I can see why. She is probably GLW x Barnie as Pele said. She is really pretty either way.

Will she eat from your hand yet?

Thank you both!
Off-grid hen - I wish. She pecked me once when I was petting one of the others and stays away unless she sees me with food, then she bullys her way towards it. The little roo and two golden buffs are very afraid of her. Only the Buff Orpington (looking) one is more dominant. I've only had them a few days so hopefully they will start to associate me with good things. Actually, the two GBs seem to like me, so that makes me happy for now. Thank you for all your input. Now if I can only get an egg. :)

Eeeee, my Marans are hatching! First pip this afternoon!
