My barred is acting really lazy the last two days I don't know if its cause she's going to lay or what anyone else experience this?
Hard to say. Could be she's getting ready to lay, could be that it's hot. My birds when they are going to lay get really vocal and pace back and forth to the nest box.
Any other symptoms you can think of would help. Is she puffed up looking? How is her poop? Anything that looks like paralysis?
Congrats! It looks exactly like my black sex link egg.
I have 3 sets of hens. my first set are about 15 months old, second set about 10 months old and third set are 26_27 weeks old. I put them ask together about 3 months ago and everything was fine. about 4 weeks ago egg production suddenly stopped. Younger chicks still have not laid thirty first egg yet and now none of them are laying.(26hens) and No eggs for 4 weeks! What could be wrong?I moved my younger 26_27 week hens to a separate pen today to see if that will help. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
Your 15 month old birds should be starting their molt. My silly birds! I posted earlier that they were kicking all the shavings out of the nest boxes. Happy Chooks says they're practicing. So I decided to put some hay back in the boxes figuring it will make for better nesting. Few hours later I went out just to check, HAY EVERYWHERE. LOL silly birds aren't gonna have anything to lay an egg on if they keep that up. No eggs yet. Still watching.
