First Egg Countdown

Came home today and found these two pretties! They're different so my RIR is the darker one and the lighter one is my BSLs yay!!

I think its the other way around, darker one would be BSL and light one RIR.

I got the tiniest egg today! I'm guessing it was from one of my leghorns, so it's not a first egg, but it's super small.

I love the little ones, I have a collection of them. It's a bit large for a fart egg, but still very cute.

Seeing all these eggs coming makes me feel so jealous! I know my jersey giant will probably wait til spring, but my Ameraucanas are seeming awfully lazy right about now...! Love the tiny egg, too! e

Regarding the chickens I got that are 8 months old, they were laying where I got them, but aren't laying for me yet. Anyone know how long the trauma of the move may last?

Good morning! Question...sort of. I've had an EE laying for over a month now. Really great layer like her sisters. Now, for the last few days. Two "whoops eggs" from her and not normal eggs. I know one every once in a while is normal...but two in four days and no regular egg?? Especially when she's been perfect for so many weeks? Chalk it up to her being still pretty fresh or worry something's up her?

A couple weeks unless it puts her into a molt.

If she's a new pullet laying, I wouldn't worry too much. If she's an older hen that you got, then it could be a sign of laying issues.

so I just found four eggs stashed by the winter bedding, went to fix the tarps and tucked away in the corner were four pretty little pullet eggs. I'm not sure how old they are, and I know they haven't been over heated, but is there a way to check if they froze? we've had a range of temps from -2c to 10c nothing to warm. If they froze could they still be good? These were outside the run, I knew there was a reason to be concerned

Sneaky girls. I've read that the yolk will be more rubbery looking, but I've never had one get frozen. It might have a different texture than normal, but they'd still be fine to eat.

Every photo holding an egg makes the eggs look much bigger than they are!
