My BR was throwing hay over her shoulder and looked like she was making a nest... She spent 30 mins on it, but then she went backout side... She has been squatting for a week.. Do you think she will:p lay today?? Thankyou!!:D

That is nesting behavior, she's practicing. It will be really soon.

Most of mine will become VERY vocal and will pace back and forth to the nest box, then outside, then the nest box, etc. on the day they are going to lay.

Well, I've asked all I can think of. All you have to do now is wait. By the looks of the last pictures, it shouldn't be too much longer. Just think about how much better it is on their bodies. (early layers can have laying problems later on in life) My hatchery BR is almost 5 years old and still lays 5 jumbo sized eggs a week. (when she's not molting like she is now)

Ok Happy Chooks, thanks so much for helping and for the support. Much appreciate it!!!! Yeah, you are very right about early layers. This is my first time with hatchery birds, so am new to them and had heard they layed so much earlier than the heritage, I got worried! Thought I had done something wrong, or forgot something. It has been a while since I had birds and then it was the heritage, so glad to be reminded that they should have less problems and lay longer...I should be happy that they are growing out slower I guess, aye? Just wish I knew why???? I did everything the way I used to...and they are healthy and happy, so am grateful for that also!

She was on top of the nesting boxes where I store the hay and was making a nest up there... Lol... I don't really care where she lays... That spot is fine for me... At least she's got the gist of it lol.... She went in and out of the coop a couple of times and strayed away from her friends( which is not like her).... :/.. So I am hoping tomorrow. Tomorrow will be 8 days of squatting:(
