They'll get bigger! We are on about week 3 of our 4 girls laying and still getting about 2 medium sized eggs and 2 small ones each day. Congrats!

I got 4 eggs AGAIN!!! Wow! When are they going to take a day off? Not that I want them to but when I raised chickens in 4-H they only laid about 5-6 days a week. I think I may be on day 8 of everyone giving me an egg?? I can't remember the first day I got 4, was it last Wednesday or Thursday? I tried to look back at my posts... I don't keep a record of my eggs or how much they weigh, etc.

We have 2 really dark brown layers, one a medium brown and one very pale brown. They are all RIR hatchery chicks from the feed store. I am probably jinxing myself and tomorrow I won't get a single egg, LOL! I am enjoying my bounty and thanking my girls for my gifts daily.

She's about 5 months. These are my very first chickens so I'm REALLY excited!!!

Unfortunately Barred Rocks are known for being late bloomers, so just be patient if she doesn't start soon. Keep us posted!!

OK, I just have to brag once again. I got ANOTHER 4 eggs today!!!!!!!!!!! These girls are like egg machines! I am one very happy chicken Mama! I only have 4 young girls barely 6 months old and they have each laid an egg every single day for going on 9? 10? days now?

I'm not complaining but when are they going to take a break?
