This thread is so much fun. Our barred rock chicks are only twelve weeks old, so we aren't expecting eggs soon. We did put out the nesting box already, though, so they can explore and get used to it. I expect the first eggs will come in late September, when I am out of the country. I'll just continue enjoying yours!

Hi guys, I just got back from camping for 5 days. no eggs. not here anyway. I got a call from my brother who I raised a couple Barnevelders for while I was gone. One of them laid an egg at 19wk and 1 day old!!! A Barnie?? I feel ripped off.
