The leg coloring has less to do with it than the comb does. Although the slate coloration tells you that your bird is more closely related to the Ameraucana bloodlines than the diluted willow-legged birds. So I guess that's something. My slate-legged EE Iti gives me mint pastel green eggs. She takes the whole Easter thing super serious.
The earlobe thing doesnt apply to EEs as they are of mixed genes.I was just reading that earlobe color is what indicates what color eggs a hen will lay; white earlobe = white eggs, blue or green earlobe = blue or green eggs accordingly and red earlobes = brown eggs. So, I just checked. Both of my EEs have red earlobes. Does this mean I won't get any pretty colored eggs?![]()

Well, I have added to my herd of birds. Found a little black rooster by the mailboxes and someone told me he and another had been there about two days! In this heat! After looking here we decided he looks exactly like a bantam black Cochin rooster. He is so cute and sweet. I have him quarantined in a stall and he jumps up on his little perch and visits with me. Then he makes a little nest talking away, then does that chuttering telling me (or his invisible hens) all about the food he found. He is so sweet!
I honestly didn't know there were miniature chickens until I came on this site. I have miniature horses I raise, I have raised pygmy and Nigerian dwarf goats, our kids got little dwarf rabbits....Now they are going to really tease me on our *mini farm*. The feed store got in mixed bantam chicks that are so cute, and I had to tell myself no, no, no! No need for more chichens. Then this little guy came along.
My hens look three times his size! Is it possible to put him with them later or will they beat up on him? And would I be able to mix bantams with big chickens? And what does mix of bantams mean? Mixed breed or a mix OF breeds? Anyone know?
Poor lil dude, I hate him being so alone lol. His lil crowing is absolutely the cutest tiny sound, he is a mature rooster tho.

And welcome KristinMarie, those are some gorgeous birds! I really like your EE!
