Nice bird. I want a Welsummer next spring! I want those nice terra cotta eggs! Good luck. I am still waiting for eggs, too. Mine started squatting a few days ago, but nothing yet. They are 21 1/2 weeks.

I just know one of my girls is gonna start laying now that I'm on a weekend vacation. I've got my mom taking care of them for a couple days and I told her if she finds the first egg to just take it and don't tell me it happened! I want to find the first one lol!

Eggs starting to come in regular now. We have at least 3 girls laying out of the 12. Got 3 eggs today. Im up to 14 eggs so far.

Me too! I leave tomorrow and don't get back until Wed PM. Most all my 21 1/2 week old pullets have started to squat! Wannnnn....I want to be here! My DH will rub it in soooo bad if he finds the first egg. He always gives them treats and says they love him best! yea, I know....some people never grow up! LOL. Oh well, the good thing will be that I am leaving to go pick up two of my grandsons and they would be so excited to be able to go find their own breakfast eggs!

I put a golf ball, 2 wooden eggs, and 2 porcelain eggs.

Do you think they will get the idea???

I have 7 chickens, 4 are laying regularly, 2 by 7:30 and 2 by 11:30 . I sure can't wait to find 7 in one day. My chickens are all 25 -26 weeks old. I am still waiting on my Danish brown leghorn and my buff Cochin, and buff orpington, the BO just started to get pink, I think the Cochin has laid an egg or two in the last week but was not home to be sure who did. I just know that I have not had a white egg from the leghorn, and the BO doesn't look or act ready. Still exciting waiting for the first all laying in one day

I certainly hope so...I guess I could put some plastic Easter eggs as well...but I don't want to over-do it...
