I still have scratch as a option of food should I take that out of there diet and only feed layer pellets ?

I only feed scratch as a treat....not as a free choice feed. Scratch is kinda like ice cream. Definitely not a balanced diet.

You can feed them 'grower for layers' or 'layer' pellets or mash, but what is most important is to have a dish of oyster shell on the side, free choice.

Today my wife found 2 eggs from the 2 silkies. We can tell from the size as they are our only bantams. this would be Lucy's first egg. We were calling her/him ''Lucy Dude''. Thought this one was a roo. We wanted all hens ,but, about 6 weeks ago she/he started crowing. We were convinced its a male. I can't have a rooster here. I'm so very happy and yet quite confused.

I have three bantams. At how many weeks should I put an egg in the laying boxes?

I would put fake eggs (like golf balls) in the nest boxes at about 17 weeks.

But only if it is important to you that they lay in the boxes.

I used golf balls and they pushed them out a few days before the first egg. Kinda funny
