First Egg Countdown!!

Rosie and Alice-19 and 18 weeks old.

Waiting (im) patiently for our first egg!

Their combs don't look at all red yet.......so no eggs yet....

Alice goes red in the wattles on occassion, Rosie is bright one day and dull the next. She has been making nests this week, so im just saying she wants to make sure she has everything right before the big day practice makes perfect

I think it is neat how they 'blush' when they are first starting out.

We finally got our first egg last night. Think it was from Yoite, our cochin. Rather small and very light brown. It was just sitting on the floor of the coop. Then today I said hi th the girls after work and Kizzy, our Buckeye was sitting in the nest box. We got a medium size dark brown speckled egg. I think they are figuring this chicken thing out.

My rir and comets were slow too (about 23 weeks, like yours), I had really thought that the comets would be earlier than that.

That's what I thought I got to researching my dates and my comets are20 weeks old oops
