So does that mean I shouldn't collect the eggs when she lays them? Because I'd like her to go broody.

If she's gonna go broody she'll do it whether you collect the eggs or not. I would get those eggs and enjoy them. I don't think many go broody when they first start laying. But rules are always broken, one of my BO was the last 2 lay be over a month or more, and entered her first brood quite soon after. If you really need an experienced answer on this, try posting a question on the incubating hatching forum or on the breeds forum and list what your chicken is?
