I love reading the "First Egg" post. You can just feel the excitement of the folks who post them.

I got my first egg yesterday but I am not sure that I have earned it. Let me explain: Most folk here, IMO, have earned their first egg. They have usually hatched their chicks or purchased them as "fuzzy butts" and then raised them to full grown laying hens.

Well my first egg came from an adopted adult bird.... Does it count? Do I get partial credit...an honorable mention...LOL

I am not completely cheating though; I do have two Australorp pullets that I have raised since they were a week old; they are now six weeks old today. And I have a brooder full of Barred Rock pullets exactly one week old today.

So back to my question....does it count?

Of course it counts! It's your first egg(even if it's not your hen's first).
    Congrats!
