im so sorry for your loss!! i also lost one of my hens when she went to lay her first egg, she had what i guess is called a "blow out" sorry to be so graphic, but everything came out when she went to lay, i found her like that, it was very upsetting!!

My buddy just lost a hen that had just laid her first egg. It was small and had blood all over it.

She died the next day. It was sad.
