First Egg last Tuesday, again Wednesday, and since then ....NADA....

A few of mine have been laying regularly for a few weeks, but somebody lays a pointy, light brown egg every once in a while. I have no idea who it is. Hopefully, she'll start cranking them out on a more regular basis, soon. They've gotta get a handle on this new egg laying gig, ya know. Practice is required on their part, patience on ours.

Soon, you'll be wondering what to do with all the durn eggs!!
I haven't found this here yet but some advise from a girl I talked to at Meyer hatchery said to feeding your first time layers Oats helps speed up the small egg process. I was getting very small eggs and I started feeding my girls oats in the morning and in a couple days my eggs went from very small to med-large. All of my hen were not laying but I believe they all are now and I have not gotten anymore tiny eggs since feeding them oats.

Never heard that feeding them oats speeds the increase in egg size. Don't know that I want them to mature to fast and skip the pullet egg stage, they have so many things to work out when they start laying. Besides I kinda like pullet eggs, and they lay them for such a short time anyway.
