Congratulations! It’s exciting when you get your first eggs.
Just an FYI,
Ameracaunas shouldn’t lay brown eggs.
Some Easter Eggers might though.
Congratulations!! First eggs are always the best.
TSC gets their chicks from Hoover Hatchery.really. maybe they are Easter eggers then. I got them from tractor supply when they were doing their chick days. hmmmm
I lost 2 of my girls to racoons so I have 3 girls left. went out this morning to let them out of their coop and found 2 eggs. my ameraucana girls are 18 weeks old.

The TSC staff are notorious for mislabeling their chicks and not knowing one breed from another. It’s pretty ridiculous sometimes.
Some hatcheries call them Ameracaunas.
But they’re actually EE.
What’s the difference?
Ameracaunas are not a mixed breed and will always lay blue eggs and will be sold as specific colors; wheaten, black, blue, splash, white, etc.
Easter Eggers are mixed breeds that have some Ameracauna genes so they lay various colored eggs. Usually some kind of blue or green but sometimes brown or even pink looking ones.
They can’t be sold as specific colors since they’re mixed and there’s no telling what they’ll look like when they feather out.
Do you have pictures of your birds you can post?
