First egg today!!! Yeah!!!

Twenty-nine ladies in waiting.

Almost 22 weeks old.

They've been turning redder and redder, checking out the nesting boxes, squatting, some wanting more attention, others no longer wanting to be touched.

They are getting louder, talkative, even practicing their egg song.

And finally today we have our first egg.

A perfect 1.5oz and from the look, and a stray feather left behind we believe from one of our Dominiques.

One down, only 28 to go.

I remember my first egg. It's the greatest feeling! Congrats. Unfortunately, you will also remember the first time you accidentally break one. Hopefully that wont happen to you for awhile. They are so precious!
