First egg today!

I bet your hatch rate will be significantly higher if you wait until the weather is a little warmer. She probably wouldn’t sit on them while it’s freezing outside but who knows.

If you pick the eggs up daily like @enoryz said, you can not tell the difference in an egg that is vs isn’t fertilized. And isn’t a health risk either.

I was reading that French Bakers exclusively use duck eggs in pastries because they have a different protein level than chicken eggs they help things rise. I got lucky with two girls, so no chance of fertilized eggs for me! But as mentioned previously, if you pick them up right away they won’t develop and you can tell the difference. More of a moral issue I suppose but that’s a different subject.
