We introduced 2 new hens to our flock after a month of being separated in the run by wire. But 2 of our 4 original hens were not very friendly at all (overly aggressive). So after a few days of the new ones being chased around and pecked at constantly I decided to take the 2 aggressors out and into the basement (in a large dog crate) to take them down a few notches. Well, we got our first 2 eggs over the weekend! First one I found in the cage. The second one in the coop after reintroducing the 2 (which has gone over very well, no more aggression and a new top bird). But none since Sunday. It's Tuesday, and I'm fairly new to this, so I think I'm just being impatient. The eggs were small, and I think she started laying early. I just built the nesting boxes and put a couple of golf balls in there. What's the interval like? I've read maybe 25 hours? It's either a Buff Orpington or an Australorp that's doing the laying, 5 months old, not on pellets or shells yet..just crumbles..
