First Egg - Will they get bigger?

That's about the size my ameraucana lays regularly. Her eggs are always a lot smaller than the other chickens eggs but they're consistent.

So yes chickens can lay larger eggs after their first but I wouldn't expect too much bigger as that looks pretty normal for an ameraucana

Agree with @MissMonty, Ameraucana eggs are what I would call "medium" sized. Mine are about 50 grams (compared to Leghorn at 58 g and Marans at 65 g).
The birds themselves are not huge birds compared to Wyandottes and others.

Congratulations on the 'first' eggs. They will become somewhat larger in size.

My SL Wyandotte are going to turn six months next month so I have a feeling I’ll be posting my true “first egg” soon

Mines ended up being 45 grams I wonder if I should try a different scale

My Marans just laid her first egg this week and it was 64g
So you never know, they do not always start with the smaller “pullet” eggs, but it is common.

I fed my two SL Wyandotte really well since the time that they were chicks and they’re a bit bigger than my new ameraucana hens. My SL Wyandotte are still yet to lay, but I wonder if their size has anything to do with it. I was wondering if feeding these hens more than their last owner will increase their eggs size? Or maybe just give it time.

I let them free range for grass, bugs, and I see them eating... really small rocks as well? I also give my chickens lots of seed treats, mealworms, and fruit so maybe that will help the ameraucanas.

Since you have 2 different breeds some of the differences can be attributed to that. Wyandottes are naturally bigger birds, for one. And not necessarily fast to mature to laying.

The rocks they're eating serve as grit, to help them break down food as they have no teeth. Make sure they always have access to some rocks (i.e. if you get periods of freeze/snow where they aren't accessible, you should supplement them).
