I just had to tell everyone!! I just got my very first egg! I am so excited! I didn't think they were going to lay for another week and while I was putting all the chicks to bed, I noticed the best box had been messed with. I got the fake egg out and straightened out the shavings. I took my hand out and only then did it register that my hand hit something hard... I reluctantly reached in to find this beauty. 
If fact, my family was down walking at the river about 1.5 miles away. I was so excited, I decided I was going to go show them. So I ran and ran (I live in the mountains, so that was tiring) , but never found them. It was starting to get dark, so I headed home. But I ran a lot.
Just thought I'd share. I'm very excited. I just moved here from a big city and this is the first time I have ever had any animals except a dog.
