I've read many times that ducks tend to lay their eggs before 9am so if you don't let them out before then there's a good chance they'll lay in their coop. Mine laid for us first time this past Thursday (1 egg, didn't notice til later in the day) and again on Sunday (3 eggs). Around 8:30am I had let them out and 1 was still fairly warm. We checked around the house later to see if they ended up laying any outside and there were none to be found :)
Congrats on the eggs!!

Congrats on the eggs!!
Thank you! Kids were super excited! I homeschool and last year brooding the Pekin ducklings was part of their science :). This year a lot of the curriculum is homesteading based. They loved being able to use their ducks eggs to bake a cake, adds an extra level of satisfaction for them. They'll also be learning about what natural herbs stimulate laying and darker yokes as well as immune support, anti-inflammatories and much more.
