first egg

YAY got our first egg today from our pulletts too bad by the time i got to it it was broke. But all saying been waiting on this since we got them as chicks in may. So happy.

We had the same experience! I found a little brown egg in the coop... opposite from the nesting box and cracked. We are soooo excited that one of our girls is finally laying-- I hope she figures out how to do it in the box tomorrow!

i used the trick of putting some ping pong balls in the nests and they were looking at them and you could see them thinking, it was funny. but someone started laying in there, so it works!

.i have 13 pullets that are going on 4mos .i am listening out for the chicken song and behaviors.i put small wooden eggs in nest i saw my leghorn checking it out and also jumped in the nest.so i do not think it will be much longer before i get eggs.good luck
