One of our Wyandottes has done us proud. She was very noisy this morning and while I was cleaning their house out she came in. Lots of nesting and shouting.and 30 minutes later strutted out very proud. Not bad for her first one eh?

No,that is fine when a new layer starts she most likely will not lay the second day.That puts a lot of stress or whatever on them so she is new and all.

Yes, it is totally normal. Don't worry about it. It puts a lot of stress on the chicken when she is new and everything, that's why you didn't get a second egg.

She's laid 5 since last Sunday. Someone else has laid today too! I'm presuming it is another hen as it was outside the house and much smaller. No idea which one though.
