I just brought a pocketful of eggs in and threw them on the counter while I went to get a box for them. I looked at the EE egg and thought, "That's really small." My EE's lay very large eggs, and slightly different shades. Then it hit me. That must be CJ's first egg. She was hatched June 6 when I threw a few of my own eggs into an incubator with purchased eggs. The chanteclers I was hatching for my husband are no where near laying, plus I've gotten no eggs from my marans and Welsumer which were hatched in April. But all of my own eggs, EE's and mixes have all started laying between 4 months one week and five and a half months.
