My Chicken layed her first eggs. She layed 2 of them. They were small and shells seem okay. We are very excited. We have 6 chickens total and this is our first experience. I'm not even sure what kind of chickens we have - 5 white and 1 brown. They are fun but are little "brats". Do we need to clean the eggs with anything special? What can we feed them to make their shells stronger? We've given them the oyster shells, but they won't eat them. We've even tried to mix them in with other things and they pick them out and move them to the side. We give them sunflower seeds and they do like them but they won't eat anything else except for their food. Any suggestions?

No, you do not need to wash the eggs. They keep longer if unwashed. If you wish (I don't) you can wash them right before using them.

As for oyster shell, have it available on the side - they will take it as their bodies need it.

And Congrats on your first eggs!
