First emergency-Pics, please help!

Just a quick update before I leave. "Daisy" ate some scrambled egg from a dish on my lap and I gave her electrolyte water from a dropper. I then put mineral oil in her vent to see if it will soften whatever is in there before I get back. Husband will help me with bathing her and keeping her warm in a cage with a heat lamp. At least she has something in her stomach but has gone back to hunching over in the corner of the run. The others are not bothering her, thank goodness. No blood. I'll try to think positively. Thanks for your help.

"Fred" the chicken expert at the feed store I went to today told me that I got good advice from you BYC folks. When I got home we gave Daisy a nice warm bath. I pulled on the thing that felt like plastic and out it came, just like you said. Back in her nice warm cage in the laundry room she expelled the third piece. Her back end seems swollen so I'll keep and eye on her. The "item" doesn't look like a complete egg membrane and I do hope this is all of it!

She is "resting" quietly right now. If any of you have any more advice on how to get back on her feet, let me know. I'm sure it will take a few days because she has not been eating and drinking. I love this silly bird and want to see her feel good again. Thanks so much for your good advice. I'll keep you posted.

This is a little gross but interesting!

I've been watching and I'm so glad it turned out well - so far! That does look like a soft shelled egg or membrane. I had one of my girls with that, but luckily I saw it right away and pulled it out. I really hope your girl starts to perk up! Good Luck and keep us posted.

edited for spelling...

Good morning. After several hours under the heat lamp yesterday the sun began to set. Daisy ate a little then began getting anxious looking out the window at the setting sun. I knew she wanted to go to roost with her sisters so we took her to the run. She ate from the feeder and went to roost. This morning, she is on the highest rung of the ladder which is her favorite rung. At least she is not in the corner with her head down. I'll keep an eye on her today to be sure she is eating and drinking. She has gotten very thin and I am a little concerned that something is wrong with her "egg maker". Thanks for your help in removing that offensive membrane. I really wouldn't have had the confidence to do it without your advice!
