I've got a bossy little Papillon dog, all of 6 pounds of her, who thinks she can tell everyone what to do.
She met the new geese today. She rushed over to give them what-for. That is until she got close. Then she just stood there in silence, staring up at them for several beats.
Then she carefully backed away until it was safe to turn and dash off, pretending that was what she intended to do all along.
The geese handled it quite well. Raised necks and tipped heads. Not even any hissing. You could see them thinking, "What the heck is that thing?" as they stared at her fleeing haunches until she was out of sight.
I suspect I am not going to have to worry about her trying to chase them. She could see she was over-matched.
