First ever hatch... Can't wait.

Oh wow they're beautiful. So shiny and fluffy. I keep thinking they will look all haggard but no ones do.

We candled at day 14 tonight again with our friends and every egg except one looked good. The one we weren't sure of looked like it had one tiny vein - but no ring of death, so I left it in. We saw some movement in more than half. Crossing our fingers for a healthy hatch. My humidity has been fluctuating. From 10% up to 45% depending on when I add water. I'm not concerned about it, but I'll definitely stay on top of it at lockdown. Maybe a damp sponge would help? How is everyone else doing?

Oh wow that's great. Mine hatched Sat-Sun. I got 30 chicks! Now I'm itching to do it again. I'm curious
to see if it was just beginners luck

Joplus, That's Awesome! Congrats! After This Hatch, I'm Going To Do Quail For A Friend... :)

Katie, How are yours coming along?

Today (midway through day 18) I took them out of the turner and laid them down in a corner. I'm going to see about putting some soft rope of braided material up against them to keep them in one corner. Reduce the bowling. lol

I moved the incubator to a lower shelf so that my kids could see in watch the hatch. Just wish it wasn't back in my laundry room - it's crowded and the cat box is back there. Going to try to clear it out and keep it fresh back there since my neighbors down the street will be over to watch the hatch also.

Will add more water tonight (day 19) and maybe throw in a really wrung out damp cloth so that I can moisten it through a straw if it starts drying out in there. Every eggs looks good - even the one I wasn't sure about. It's nice and dark and the air cells look good although I'm not an expert.

Pics of the eggs and my broody hen that hopefully will adopt a couple of the chicks.

My hen just went broody aswell, she is sitting on 8 eggs on day 1 at the minute, she is 6 days behind the incubator so she might also adopt some of the eggs, she is sitting on 8 eggs
