I ate my first one today...not from my girls...they are too young...but from my friend's farm. Tasty. I made a store bought and the farm fresh one and a duck egg fresh as well. I really like the fresh chicken egg but was put off by the bloody duck egg! I can not wait for my girls to lay!

Bless your heart! IF you think those eggs were good...JUST you wait until yours lay.. You'll be squealing like a little piggy! I was soooo eggcited I couldn't wait to get on here and show & tell everyone... BUT I must admit....I didn't want to eat it! I was too busy showing it to everyone and taking a 1000 pictures... How old are your girls??

My girls are only four weeks...I thought they were five weeks but I counted wrong! I know I will be thrilled to have my own eggs. When my DD and I were at my friends' house today it was so fun searching for eggs togather! Then she sent us home with a dozen duck eggs to boot!

There's nothing like the first egg. It's so exciting you'll feel like doing back flips. And as you experienced, they taste so good. Plus, once they start laying, the eggs just keep coming.

what does it mean when I remember the first time I ate a fresh egg from my chickens more than the first time I.... ya know...??

Use the duck eggs to make a cake, especially a sponge cake. You will be impressed at how much the cake will rise, and how soft it will be. Yum.

Hm? I've never heard anything about eating duck eggs! Bloody? Must have been pretty far along on the incubation. I have cracked some bloody chicken eggs from store-boughten supplies.
