first full day with pop door open.

i've got my chicks in the coop & there is a corral outside the pop door. to date, i have sat in the corral w/them to make sure no predators. i don't have a top on the run.
i bought bird netting yesterday, put it over the corral & tied it securely this morning. i opened the pop door (beautiful day) & they have been going in & out all day. it's a big step for my babies. it's a big step for me too - to know that there probably will be losses is inevitable is a hard reality for me. at five weeks, i haven't lost one yet.
this is a temporary fix while they are gaining some size.
i know i can't baby sit them all day every day.

I haven't moved mine out yet. I was going to this week, but we are expecting torrential rains over the next several days - so I'm keeping them in until I can sit out and be with them (for a while anyway).

My run isn't covered. I have 4 adults - and no problems yet - I've only lived here since Sept, but I haven't even seen evidence of raccoons.
