First Hatch 2010-Rocks, Amer's, etc. (FINISHED!)

Every egg is pipped except one of Fern's. Didn't expect I'd actually have almost every one hatch, but that's what it's looking like. Let's hope that there will be enough females to pick from so some other folks can get some pullets from there, in addition to boys. Here are the ones in the brooder. You can see the one black Ameraucana in there with its pea comb.

Somewhat better, but not completely. DH brought me back some hot and sour soup from the Chinese place, which seems to open up my sinuses, though not sure what it will do for the rest of me!

ALL eggs are now pipped and two BRs are about to come out and play. So, if these pipped eggs all manage to hatch, I'll have 19 babies.

*sigh* I so wish I was closer at times like these. I'd sneak over there to Cyn & Tom's and take care of the critters while they got some much needed quiet time!

That is so sweet of you, Amy! Some days, I wish I had someone to help out my poor hubby. He was replacing the A/C compressor and serpentine belt on his truck today and said he fell off from on top of the engine to the ground and landed on his back. I actually had the thought that he might do that and dang it, he sure did. He already has degenerative disc disease and is in pain 24/7 as it is. Poor honey. He tries so hard to take care of everything.

Uh-oh- tell Tom I am so sorry he fell- my DH has old ankle injuries and fell last week- he is wrapped up and semi laid up with a facture- hope you both feel better! Was there any sun for you today/

It was chilly but dry and sunny for a wonderful change!

Oh, Beth, your poor DH is laid up, too? Now that is miserable, when you can't get around easily. My DH is going back to work next week .... he has to go to New Mexico! He has been off work long enough .... I am ready for him to go back to work now! He convinced the Dr. to release him, which really is probably not a good idea. He has a frozen shoulder. It is better, and less painful, but he is not 100%, and probably never will be.

Cyn, I sure hope Tom is okay, and no worse from the fall. Take care, both of you!

Now, come on chickies .... finish up this hatch!

Yup, he is hobbling around and grumpy. He says he feels guilty that he isn't to help outside for a few more days. It's OK - he really is good about doing stuff around here normally, and I would rather have him healed up. Maybe we should get all our DH's together (yours, mine, Cyn's) doing something male and we can go do chicken things- I sure hope you DH's shoulder DOES get back to 100%! Man I HATE getting older!

Yes, we do not appreciate the health and vigor of youth, until it is gone! ha Since DH has been off, he has .... bought new tires for the pick-up, bought a new hot water heater for the guest house, bought a new battery for the mowers, bought ..... I'm tellin' ya, it is expensive keeping him busy!

He decided he needed to take care of all the things that were over-due, while he had the time.

Then, he has been cleaning. Pulling out boxes of junk, tossing and relocating, and driving me crazy with, "What about this? Where should I put this?" <<<sigh>>>

Well, here's hoping for improved health, for all of us!
