I am going through my first hatch...started in July. Today is Day 18 and we are set to lockdown this afternoon. I set 18 of Wynette's fabulous Silver Penciled Plymouth Rocks in my LG still air with auto turner. All were shipped beautifully and were super clean (though not washed, certainly).
I had one in particular that I was concerned about. It had what I thought to be slight cracking, but upon candling, it showed no signs of cracking...just a discoloration on the shell perhaps. I candled at Day 7 and all but two or three seemed to be developing. I waited until Day 10 to re-check and confirmed the same. Veins all over the place and even some movement!
On Day 15, I checked them again...the two I was most concerned with, appeared to have bloodrings. Many others appeared to have stopped dead in their tracks on Day 10, while three others seemed to be chock full o'chick! None were weeping or had any smell, so I chose to leave them all to recheck this afternoon before lockdown. We shall see what this evening's candling brings!
