Post a pic if you can. It may have pipped thru a blood vessel which is generally bad news...fingerscrossed for you that it is not serious!

I've never seen blood on a pip, but have seen blood when helping a chick out. It may have severed a vein, but just like when you help a chick out, when you see blood you stop and put it back in the bator, so this chick right now is probably going to rest and let the veins dry up. I wouldn't worry too much.
