First hatch of the year! UPDATED 3/14 - 20 of 28 hatched PICS!

Are you going to remove them from the cubes? I would be concerned that the cardboard "walls" would make hatching much harder since there really isn't much room for the chicks to kick themselves out of the eggs.

so far 5 have hatched and no problems from the walls. there is a little area off to the side where they can go when they hatch out of the cardboard. so far things look good.

ok so now 20 of 28 have hatched. i am sure i am going to have to cull one as its legs are really twisted. not sure yet though. now for pics.

this is one that had zipped but couldn't get out. its shell was stuck on one side so i got it out and pulled the top off. and it popped on out afterwards. doing good now. not sure why it stuck as no others did.

Good hatch and very cute babies. I've had some that get stuck in the shell, don't know why. With a little help to get out they do fine.

popping the top of worked for me, avoid taking the bottoms off, the ones that I popped tops off are all doing great now 21/2 weeks old so yours will be fine.

ok so there is this one that has a twisted leg or spraddle leg. is there a way to fix this? the little chick is healthy looking otherwise.

Yes, you can fix spraddle leg often. Do a search and you will find a bootie method using some cardboard and bandaids. Congrats on your super hatch and precious cherubs!
