I am pretty sure the humidity was too low. Sometimes I will put a damp cloth in the incubator when it is time to pip. You also want to keep the temps up to about 100 f.![]()

The dried hatching gunk will dry and fluff up, better not to water bathe them..at least not in the first 3 days or so..
I've used a very soft toothbrush to help break it up.....or gently 'preen' them with your fingertips/nails.
If I have a chick with glued feathers hatch---The time I take it out the incubator--I hold it under the slow running water(set to about 100 degree's) and wet, use a drop of dawn---wash and dry with a towel---then blow dry---then place it in the warm brooder with the others. I hatched over 6000 in just one year so I had to do a few. Never been a problem.Could I bath him in a warm bath with dawn? One has its feathers glued to his back. I pulled all the chicks out of the bator thought I'd save as many as I could. We have a total of 13 right now.
Another thing that's driving me crazy...is it possible that my bator has a cold spot? This sounds crazy but hear me out. All my chicks that hatched on day 21 were on the right. The ones hatching today and ones that are peeping are from the left. I don't mean most, of them I mean all of them.

Yes your incubator can have cold spots if it is a still air----if its got a good working fan----cold spots are usually about elimated. Good Luck.
