First Olive Egger Egg!

Beautiful eggs! Especially her first onr the way it appeared in the first photo!

Boy I would love an egg that looked like that!

I get a great array of blue, green, olive, pink, and browns but I'm always looking for more!

Your variety is my dream assortment! I've only had light brown egg layers up to this point (Plymouth rocks and Orpingtons), so I'm excited for these olive eggs (whatever shade they end up being). I also have an Easter egger pullet that I'm still waiting for eggs from and my fingers and toes are crossed for blue!

My 19-week-old olive egger, Ruthie, laid her first beautiful green egg today (my 3-year-old barred rock’s egg included in pictures for size comparison)! That first egg never gets less exciting (for me, anyway) regardless of how many years I’ve been in this hobby.

@FunOnABun (your screen name makes me grin every time)
How goes Ruthie's egg color?

LOL, thanks!

She's still working out the kinks; I think she's covered the spectrum of blue-green/grey/olive over this first week of laying...will post an updated photo of the variety this evening after I get home and gather eggs. They are starting to increase in size, though! Still fascinating to see the process, even after all these years.

My first OE girl this year has been steady every day for 8-9 days now,
and yesterdays egg was 2oz!
I didn't weight any of the others, but was surprised it got 'large' that fast.
