Help! Our 10week old lavender Americauna is a little off today. She seems to eating and drinking well. She did have a little food left in her crop this morning. When I go in the coop she comes to me but also is a little lethargic. Is this the dreaded Coccidia stance? We have not seen any bloody stool. She is the one on the left.

Welcome To BYC
Cute Chicks!

If her crop was not empty this morning, I'd check it again first thing before she eats/drinks, if still not emptying, address that symptom. (Article Below).

Do provide Grit (Crushed Granite) for your birds free choice.

Hard to tell by the photo. If she's lethargic, not feeling well and you feel she may be suffering from Coccidiosis, then treat with Corid. Her crop not emptying/having crop issues may be why she's not up to par or could be a combination.

When you can, get photos of her poop. Not all strains of Coccidia show as blood in the poop.

Corid can be found at TSC. Dosing is below.
Liquid Corid dose is 2tsp or Powdered Corid Dose is 1 1/2tsp per gallon of water given for 5-7 days as the only source of drinking water.
Do not add any extra vitamins/electrolytes that contain B1(Thiamine) to food or water during the course of treatment.
