First ripe tomato!

Lucky! What type did you plant? I did multiple kinds. So far my early girls are the only ones producing

I planted beefsteak, which are the ones I have been getting. The lemon boys are the ones I had to tear up due to the black widows. I only got one tomato out of those. The cherry tomatoes are the super sweet ones.

I have 3 beef steak plants. I havent had much luck with them though. I thought id try them again this year now that my garden has more sun but still nada. Next year I will have to switch it up and do early girls. I tested my soil and its ph is 7. Maybe they need more acidity...

Tomatoes like slightly acidic soil. I added some fertilizer to mine to make the pH 6.

Ill have to try that. Next year i should have a lot of chicken poo compost so that should help.
