First Run of Cornish Cross Meat Birds and Super Excited!

400

Here is my Welsummer roo I'm getting!!

Will you sell any chicks??

Was this for me?

If so sure, I hope to put the first ones in around mid-month, A variety of eggs, I am going to save all the Cream legbars eggs and try and hatch them and fill the incubator with others.

I have some people buying eggs from me that want some chickens, which means I lose them for customers, but I would rather get them into chickens.

Maybe you will have to let me know when you are selling some chicks from your Legbars. I have always wanted those always in 1-2 years ago when I saw some for sale. I am trying to get our costumers into chickens. But they are always busy.

Jessica- Sorry to hear you are having a flare up. Likely stress related... my MS always gets worse when I am rundown and stressed. Take care of yourself! Vodka helps, hehe. Obviously I think vodka helps everything.
Before you know it, all the ladies will be at your house and you will have so much more time!!!

Holm- I was just waiting for someone else to ask Ralph about the legbars... I have already wormed my way in on the turkeys, I didn't want to be too pushy!
Your new roo is good looking!

Ralph- Your newest extra fancy show birds are beautiful! Very dignified.

Just another day in the snow here. My girls are so antsy. They have started pecking at each other a bit. They are all breeds that are fine with confinement, but they are going on over 2 weeks not wanting to leave the coop.
Hopefully the weather predictions are correct and by the end of the week we will be back to the 50's!

MM: I think what caused it was dehydration after further consideration as well as stress. When I go to the farm, I am without facilities for 3-4 hours. So I think I was not drinking enough water to avoid needing to go. Pardon the TMI. I am a chronic water drinker under normal circumstances but I am not under normal circumstances now. I never thought it would happen to me. By the time I got home at the end of the day, it was time for dinner and a bit o' vodka right? So on top of not drinking enough water and then partaking, I was just wringing myself dry. Never thought it would affect me so. After a few no vodka days and extra water, I am feeling at least 80% better.

We've been having cold nights but lovely days. I have left the brooder door open and it is cute to see the chicks find the rays of sunshine and lay down. I feel sorry for you all with the snow. I grew up in Alaska, so my snow quota has been exceeded.

By the way, the chicks are 2 weeks old today!
