First Run of Cornish Cross Meat Birds and Super Excited!

HI Maggie and welcome here...

I am sorry I did not welcome you sooner, however, I am busy trying to stay alive with this killer cold,

I am running a fever of around 200 right now. OK,, this has wore me out, time for a nap.

Ralph you gotta start drinking lots of cold and cough syrup!!! Would you please step outside maybe you will warm up this cold state.

What a deal on that Legbar egg! And to think, I thought you might keep them all to yourself.

I hope your killer cold leaves soon. I know how colds and illness always affect men so much worse... My DH currently is dying from a sore throat. I may have to try and dig a hole through all my snow and into the frozen ground.
My condolences go out to you and your wife. Especially your wife.

Jessica- You may have to be sure you have napkins in your car... no more getting dehydrated for you. Is there a nice bush you can hide behind? Glad you are on the mend. I know how awful it can be.. especially without vodka to make it better

And Happy 2 Week Birthday to the Fuzzballs!!

Holm- When do all of your new birds arrive?! I am vicariously living through everyone else until it seems as if spring will come and stay here.

Welcome to the Bar and Grill Maggie... we are an interesting bunch! In my humble opinion.

May 28th for the chicks and May 29th for the poults. We stopped at the local Team Industries and got some big wood boxes for brooders for my hopefully successful Easter hatch!!

This cold is getting ridiculous!

Much of my illness can be blamed my DW. She brought this home from work, and worse yet She let me run out of schnapps!

The cold is getting ridiculous!! But have you seen the forecast for next week?? It said rain but I don't believe those weather people at all!!!

I don't drink because I am to young but I am sorry for you any ways!!

Too young?! I assumed you were an adult. I might be confused here.

I am putting eggs in on the 10th or 11th, which should get me fuzz balls on the 31st or 1st...

MM, There is very good scientific reason why men get sicker than women.

Virus are sex linked. They can attach themselves to cells with either X or Y chromosomes, but not both.
Now you would think this means men and women get the same number of viruses. BUT it is way more complicated than that. When identifying viruses scientists have found 90% of all viruses can only attach themselves to Y chromosomes.

Therefore a man gets 9 viruses to every one a woman gets, making men 9 times sicker than a woman and of course lengthening our time being ill. It is a burden we as men have to bear, but most of us do it without whining or complaining. We are just our normal stoic selves.

Maggie, Do not try to sneak an extra drink when Jessica is not here. MM and myself are in charge of the alcohol, for security reason, when she is gone.
