First Run of Cornish Cross Meat Birds and Super Excited!

But you will get the good stuff from your doc!!

I find a good stiff one helps my back, when it is hurting, if taken as a chaser to my prescriptions. BTW, Never mention this to my Doc, he is so old fashioned!

I would think you would appreciate MM being a heath advocate for us, instead of punishing her by locking her out of the bar!

I am so excited to be getting these new birds, I have never had a show quality bird before, I hope I don't do something wrong with them, I should be over run in Blue eggs next year between ED and the cream bar rooster, who may or may not have a name yet.

Oh, I appreciate MMs health advice. I just know that I need to monitor the consumption so I don't go broker than I already am. By the way, where is she today. She is missing out on our teasing!

Congrats on the Legbars Ralph!!

We may be getting some kids in 1-2 weeks!!! They are the cutest little things!! One is a black and white mix and the other is brown. Hopefully we will have some milk goats as they are both does!! They are going to live in our coop for a month and once we have a run built they can stay in there with the chickens. I imagine the ducks and chickens will clean up after the goats also!!

We also ordered some chicks from Meyer today!! On the order form is 2 White Rocks, 2 Dark Cornish, 2 Golden Laced Wyandottes, 2 Silver Spangled Hamburgs, 2 Silver Laced Polish and 3 White Crested Black Polish!! We also ordered 9 Bantams, 3 Easter Egger bantams, 3 Buff Brahma bantams and 3 Mille Fleur Bearded D'uccle!!

I am hoping to use the Dark Cornish hens in some projects. And the bantams are going to have their own place so we will let them be with the roo we get and let them hatch as they please!!

That is the most I have ever posted at once.

We als ordered 5 more tukeys!! But they are BB Bronze. So we will have lots of turkeys wandering the yard this summer!!

Ducks are cousins to geese...so let's say the ducks actually clean up after the ducks?

Are you getting the BB from Milaca? Is he mailing or are you picking them up?

and I woke up to no snow, I was expecting the blizzard when I got out of bed...Yeah for me!

Nope we are getting turkeys from Meyer. And I watched a video and the ducks and chickens ate all the goat crap. Don't worry I almost cried when I saw all the snow this morning!!!

You must be north of me. We are getting snow now. It is really coming down heavy. Of course it will be bad as I have to drive to Brainerd to get my new birds.

Oh. My. Goodness. Y'all are cracking me up!

I was off on a Mom's weekend (no kids, copious amounts of booze, amazing food, etc). There was no wifi at the cabin, no cell service, and we ended snowed in an extra day. Crime of the century?! We ran out of vodka. We had to settle for wine the last day.

So, I see Ralph and Jessica have me pegged..

And yes, I consumed cranberry and tomato juice with my vodka making it very healthy. Orange juice with my champagne. And well, wine is fruit. Totally healthy weekend.

In order to be able to leave for the fun weekend, we had to help dig 3 cars out. The plow had another plow come and help him get out and get our road a bit under control. Funny thing, I get to town and the roads are not even snowpacked. They didn't get more than a few inches.
Alright, back to chickens.

Ralph- I am SO JEALOUS of your legbars!!! I can't wait to hear all about them.

Holm- All your new birds will be so fun!

Man, I am very envious of all the new babies everyone is getting. Meanwhile, my gals have not left the coop in a good 2 weeks. They really hate the snow. It is snowing again now.
I put in an order with the local feed store to get my CX and 2 Orloffs. I am a bit concerned about the coop size for the future. Adding the 2 Orloffs may not be the best idea...
I may be constructing a more permanent structure for all of my dream birds. Much to DH's dismay.

Morning all, rain, rain. Sigh. I got my six babies out to the store room brooder last night. They were excited. Lots of room to play. I have until the 9th to finish all I have to do. Got to get George over to finish the growout pen for them. SIL Clint can watch them and know when they are ready to go outside. Spring is finally on it's way in La.
